Material and care

The straps and bands are cut from faux leather with a reflective white finish bonded to the surface, so cleaning is different from plain faux leather. Wipe the bands with a damp cloth and mild soap, then air dry flat away from direct heat, since machine washing can crack the reflective coating over time. The metal slide buckles are plated rather than solid, so rinse off any moisture promptly to keep them from tarnishing. With normal handling the reflective coating holds up for regular wear, though repeated folding along the same crease can eventually dull that section of the coating.
